Keeping Our Kids Safe

A MESSAGE FROM OUR KIDCITY TEAM

Hello AMAZING KidCity Parents!!

The team and I are SO excited to share what we are doing in KidCity to ensure the safety of our NHE Families.

KidCity values the health and safety of all of our NHE families. We also understand that we are one of the first churches to open children's ministry in our area and we want to communicate the important actions that we are taking to keep our kids safe.

Mask Requirements

In order to keep KidCity safe and to honor Oregon's statewide mask mandate, we will be encouraging all children attending our KidCity weekend services to wear masks.

Here's how it will work. We will encourage kids 3-4 years old to wear face coverings. We understand that some kids will have a hard time keeping the masks on, and we will do our best to help remind them in a friendly and loving way. Kids 5 years old to 5th grade will be required to wear a face mask. If you are unable to obtain a mask one will be provided upon arrival to our services.

Temperature Checks

KidCity will be taking temperatures of all of our kids upon entry to our building. This is to ensure the safety of all of our kids, volunteers, and staff.

Handwashing Station

A portable handwashing station will be provided outside of our gym location so parents can help wash their children's hands before entering our services. We are excited to partner with our community in making sure we do our very best to keep everyone clean and healthy.

KidCity Service Changes

So we can put our focus on making our reopening process as smooth and safe as possible for our kids and volunteers, moving forward we will not have KidCity available at the Sunday 8:30am services. However, we will continue to have KidCity available at our Saturday 6:00pm and Sunday 10:00 & 11:30am services.

KidCity Snack Changes

To keep our KidCity space as clean as sanitary as possible, we will not be offering snacks during our services. We will offer 8 oz water bottles for our kiddos that are thirsty.

KidCity Jacket & Toy Policy

To keep our KidCity space as clean and sanitary as possible, we are asking that parents hold onto any extra items such as jackets, hair clips, or toys brought from home. Thank you!

KidCity Classroom Changes

Kids Birth-2 years: As we open, we will temporarily not have childcare available at weekend services for this age group. However, we will be providing a room for parents to watch service with a live TV feed, in a safe place where littles can play (if they prefer not to sit in our main auditorium).

Kids 2 ½ years-5th grade: Kids in this age group will check-in and have their service at the Gym (Uptown). We have clear signage for traffic flow for both Check-in and Pick-up of your children, as well as socially distanced lines set-up for before and after services. Our team will be keeping kids within age groups and observing social distancing protocols that have been set by the CDC.

KidCity at Home is available below for those who aren't quite ready for in-person services yet and will continue to be sent out weekly via email.

KidCity Sick Child Policy

Parents, it is our duty to protect all of the kids that come into KidCity. We ask that you please do not admit a child who currently or within the last 24 hours has had one or more of the following symptoms:
  • fever
  • colored mucus from the nose
  • productive cough
  • skin infection
  • unexplained rash
  • unexplained diarrhea
  • pink eye
  • nausea or vomiting
We are excited to partner with all of you in keeping our kids safe and healthy!

In the Classroom we...

Sanitize - KidCity ensures a thorough cleaning and disinfecting of frequently touched surfaces before, during, and after every service.  To help with this, we will be opening KidCity Check-in 10 minutes before the start of each service. This will allow us the ability to clean the entire room before a new group of kids enter the Gym.

Require - All KidCity volunteers to take their temperatures, wear facemasks, and wash their hands prior to entry. We have an alcohol-based hand sanitizer available at all times for our kids and volunteers to use.

Encourage - All of our children to practice social distancing.

Ensure - That we are following all CDC recommendations.

We have missed all of our KidCity kids these past few months and we are SO overjoyed to be serving your families in-person again! If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me directly via email at savannahbusby@newhopeeugene.com.

Blessings and Joy to all of you!
